Kate Rothen
In 2005, Kate sought refuge from a traditional public relations career and found a home at SS+K. Since then, she has helped clients tackle challenges ranging from fighting TV censorship to empowering female entrepreneurs to getting Americans to reconsider the electric car. She’s engineered engagement strategies for clients like Chevrolet, Kraft beverages, Audi, and Westin Hotels. Along the way, she served as SS+K’s first Director of Social Media and as Executive Director of our account management team.
After graduating from Amherst College with a degree in English and French, Kate worked through the ranks in the PR world: handling economic development for the Dutch government at Ruder Finn, helping launch Splenda at RF Binder Partners, and helping Airbus speak American (and vice versa) at AGG International.
In 2011, the Impact Center named Kate one of twelve Women’s Leadership Fellows. The year-long program teaches leadership and active citizenship through mentoring and coaching.
Kate lives in Brooklyn, where she pretends to enjoy running and learning to code, but is more likely to be found searching for the perfect lobster roll.
